This application note describes how to perform diagnostic tests using virtual validation.
The PC-based simulation of virtual ECUs (V-ECUs) lets you prepare and run hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) tests early in the development process of ECU software. In addition to the actual application software, ECUs typically provide specific diagnostic features. Generating a V-ECU with these diagnostic features requires additional third-party basic software modules. The integration of these third-party modules is possible using AUTOSAR micro controller abstraction layer (MCAL) modules provided by dSPACE.
The application note describes the workflow for generating such V-ECUs with SystemDesk. It also explains how to use ControlDesk as diagnostic tester to execute diagnostic services and access the fault memory.
The application note uses the EB tresos AutoCore basic software from Elektrobit to implement the diagnostic features and describes how to generate the Elektrobit basic software for the simulation in VEOS.
