Test of a radar sensor that is influenced by surrounding components at the mounting location.
As a rule, the radar sensor is integrated into another vehicle component (grill, front spoiler). Both the design features of the component and its material properties have an influence on the detection features of the sensor. A particularly thorough validation of the sensor must therefore take place under the real conditions at the mounting location.
Over-the-air tests with DARTS offer an ideal prerequisite for particularly realistic tests of radar sensors. The components in which the sensors are mounted can be partially or completely integrated into the test setup in the laboratory. This ensures that the influence of the mounting location can be included in all laboratory tests at an early stage.
