With Release 2018-B, dSPACE introduces the new license type SYNECT user license. Dongle-based licenses of SYNECT and Workflow Management used by individuals on dedicated PCs will be replaced by SYNECT user licenses. Standard floating network licenses are not affected.
Existing SYNECT and Workflow Management customers with valid Software Maintenance Service (SMS) contracts who currently use dongle licenses will automatically receive the new SYNECT user licenses with Release 2018-B.
Floating network licenses and SYNECT user licenses both use the CodeMeter licensing technology introduced with dSPACE Release 2017-B. Both license types can be activated and hosted using the same dSPACE License Server with CodeMeter Runtime.
The benefits of SYNECT user licenses are:
Central administration of SYNECT users and licenses
Dongle-free use of SYNECT
Access to SYNECT data via a web interface and/or REST API without a client installation
