dSPACE and Spirent have agreed on a technical cooperation for testing GNSS-based driving functions.
Spirent provides solutions that drive innovation and development in positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) technologies. The aim of the cooperation was to integrate the Spirent GNSS test solutions with the SCALEXIO hardware platform and Automotive Simulation Models (ASM) to reduce time and improve accuracy when testing GNSS-based driving functions. To achieve this, Spirent has developed a custom interface module that runs directly on the SCALEXIO system and enables GSS7000 or GSS9000, the multi-frequency multi-GNSS simulation systems from Spirent, to generate GNSS radio frequency (RF) signals based on position data provided by ASM during virtual test drives. For even more realistic testing, dSPACE vehicle dynamics and environment simulation was complemented by the Spirent Sim3D software to simulate multipath and obscuration effects.
