DS1006 Processor Boards have a maximum current consumption of approx. 24A at 5V.
They can therefore be used only in expansion boxes that are capable of providing the necessary supply current.
In addition, these expansion boxes are equipped with additional power supply connectors for the DS1006.
Expansion boxes that are prepared for use with the DS1006 Processor Board have a sticker on the rear panel showing the hardware revision and the maximum output current at 5V, for example Rev 3.2 / 60A.
Older expansion boxes without this sticker must not be used for DS1006 Processor Boards. Normally they can be modified by dSPACE to achieve DS1006 compatibility.
The following table shows the minimum hardware revisions of Expansion Boxes for use with DS1006 Processor Boards.
Expansion Box Type | Compatible with DS1006 since Revision | Maximum Number of DS1006 to be inserted | Remarks |
---|---|---|---|
PX20 | 3.2 / 60A | 2 | - |
PX20 | 3.2 / 50A | 1 | - |
PX10 | 1.3 / 33A | 1 | - |
PX5 | 1.2 / 33A | 1 | If a DS1006 is used in a PX5, an additional fan must be installed in the box. The PX5 Expansion Box is used for dSPACE Simulator Mid-Size. |
The DS1006 Processor Board cannot be used in a dSPACE AutoBox or a standard PC.
