Paderborn/Munich, May 26, 2023. The dSPACE World Conference, which took place in Munich on May 24 and 25, was a great success. More than 650 industry experts from 26 countries came together, taking a break from their day-to-day business to be inspired by presentations from global players and innovation leaders. The participants used the conference as a platform to discuss pioneering solutions in the areas of electric and autonomous mobility with experts from different industries such as automotive, railway, and aerospace.
Developing software-defined electric and autonomous vehicles brings about new requirements for simulation, validation, and homologation. Anyone who buys a car in the future will receive a high-powered computer on wheels, which is checked, serviced, and updated via a constant connection with the backend. This means that vehicles remain safe and with the newest version of technology. In addition, new functions can be easily added. The result of this development is an enormous increase of the complexity with an impact on development and validation processes, including road approval. “As a partner for simulation and validation, we provide our customers with the right mix of solutions for comprehensive testing and simulation. This mix allows tests in the virtual and in the real world to be implemented efficiently from development to approval,” said Dr. Carsten Hoff, CEO of dSPACE.
In addition to the presentations, the focus was on new technologies and solutions from dSPACE and its partners. dSPACE employees at 35 exhibits demonstrated how, for example, manufacturers can validate software-based functionality extensions, perform rapid prototyping, or test batteries or electric motors for electric cars, or how autonomous driving can get onto the road faster by using end-to-end solutions.
